Conflicting advice from Menopause Consultant re Utrogestran dose

I had my NHS Menopause Clinic consultation today and was left confused. I'm currently on cyclical HRT (100mg patches, 200mg Utrogestan). My GP told me new guidelines mean I need to increase my Utrogestan to 300mg, which I didn't tolerate well. The consultant said I don't need to increase it because OVER 100mg is considered high, contrary to BMS guidelines listing 100mg as a high dose. While I prefer staying on 200mg, I want to clarify:

  1. Is the consultant correct, or was the suggestion based on my intolerance?
  2. What are my individual risks (I have no bleeding issues)?

Should I email or call with these questions? It's stressing me as I like clear facts for informed decisions.
Thanks for any advice.
