Bleeding started with 4 days of progesterone still left to take?

Hi ladies.
First month of Femoston 1/10 almost complete, but started bleeding this morning with still 4 days of the grey combined oestrogen/progesterone pills still left to take?

Is this considered normal? I do know that it can take the body a while to adjust to HRT, and my periods are usually every 25ish days which is the same as this month on HRT.

I was expecting to fully finish the pills before a bleed was induced? Anyone else get early bleeding on this kind of sequential combined HRT?

Thanks!

I use sequential HRT (not that type though - I have estrogen patches + utrogestan tablets) but I always bleed before the end of the 2-weeks of utrogestan. I figure it makes no difference so long as the progesterone is keeping your womb lining thin.

I’m on my first month of HRT.
2 pumps oestrogel every day & 200 mg progesterone 12 days a cycle.
I started the progesterone half way through the cycle in the hope the break would coincide
With my normal period but I started bleeding with 4 days of progesterone left. Felt like a period but much lighter shorted and less intrusive than usual!
Now on day 2 since the last progesterone and no bleeding but feel like something might be brewing again…
Early days though, I expected it would be like this at first and take a while to align and settle.

I have been on sequential HRT for 2 and a half years and always start bleeding on about day 8 of the utrogestan. It seems like the progesterone triggers the bleed rather than it being a withdrawal bleed.

That’s interesting and good to know. How long does your bleed/period last?

Wigglypasta · 10/12/2024 14:12

It is usually about 4 to 5 days.

About day 6 of the 12 day progesterone for me, been on HRTgor over two years.

I honestly wouldn’t read anything into month 1.

I usually start bleeding at some point while I'm still taking the Utrogestan tablets. My thinking is that as long as I bleed, it means it's doing its job.

So I’ve started bleeding again having had about 3/4 clear days and this feels more like my usual period so guessing last week’s was not my ‘period’ as it was early and this time is when i would have expected it with more of the usual symptoms… as a PP said, will not read too much into month 1!
