Hi. Women here mid 50s, feel tiresome with periods coming all the time, when will it stop? I am getting frustrating and still waiting it to end.
Thanks for reading.

How long’s a piece of string?

Hi all, read that women's perimenopause around 45 to 55. It is 12 months without a period, not everyone is menopausal at 55. I'm still having periods, but lighter and a couple of months without. I think it take time and slowly less bleeding.xx

I have had two periods this year-August and November after 9 months. I am 58. Waiting to see if I have a period next week or not.

I am almost 55 and as regular as clockwork... I take hrt because I had continual kidney problems without it but have never a hot flush or anything. My ADHD is worse but apart from that I am still staggeringly regular... My 80 year old friend had periods until she was 61 and then they just stopped completely.... I thought I'd be done by now.

I'm 55 and still have periods

Sorry to disappoint you, OP, but I had my last period aged 56. I agree, it is very annoying!

I am 57 and this last few days only just reached 'official' menopause. Up to the middle of last last year, I was as regular as clockwork each month.

Peri was a nightmare for me (for various reasons & for years) and HRT worked brilliantly for a long time - first on a combined tablet then patches/gel.

Then my patches were changed due to availability in May/June last year and it all went downhill almost immediately.

After 6 months of no bleeds, those new patches kicked off truly awful monthly cycles - so around October last year I ripped the bloody patch off once an for all and have never looked back.

56, fingers crossed, one more month and I'm done.

Snowy16 · 04/12/2024 18:53

Yeah, we are in the 50s group. My cousin stopped at 46, I'm 55 next year.

Harmonyrose · 04/12/2024 20:18

Thanks all. My period is not a monthly thing now. Light or heavy, longer days and sometimes shorter.

Sorry to disappoint, but some women have periods until their 60s - just as others reach menopause at 40. It’s a very long window.

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 05/12/2024 18:33

I'm still having them at 53. I asm hoping this one might be the last one but who knows.

54 in march and regular as clockwork. Month in month out. Feel like an embarrassed granny buying tampons
