(Lighthearted please - if at all possible!)
... you start patting the washing machine and thanking it for not (as it sometimes does) leaving the washing absolutely saturated when you have to dry indoors, and promptly burst into tears of gratitude 😂

Anyone else a tad overemotional and want to share?

You plug your phone in to charge, walk in the kitchen and immediately go looking for your phone.

@UnaOfStormhold - Being ON the phone whilst looking for it.

Not being able to find the word for ‘ham’ and standing in the supermarket asking ‘where is the …flat meat?’

Helpagirlout222 · 30/11/2024 11:15

I waited a long time in my car at a crossroads last night, not pulling out. No traffic to be seen in any direction. I was just waiting...then realised I didn't know what I was waiting for! I think for someone to tell me to go?!

QuickFetchTheCoffee · 30/11/2024 11:20

😂 not just me then

Getting three quarters of the way through a newly-purchased monthly magazine before realising that I'd already bought (and read) the exact same magazine the previous week.

Same as @EmotionalSupportBiscuit but with motorbike handlebars, which my brain could only describe as "steering handles". DH helpfully encouraged me with "say what you see!!" Blush

in a panic, on the phone, saying I cant find my phone

JadedVeryJaded · 30/11/2024 11:59

You realise your child has left her phone at home. You text her to tell her. You take a few seconds to understand why your name pops up in a text message notification on her phone. You stand staring into space for a while, a phone in either hand, wondering where your once very sharp mind has gone.

I am potting up some bulbs in a plant pot. I realised that I didn’t have any stones to put at the bottom of the pot, no pottery shards, nothing. Wondering what I can do, I stare out of the window ….at the sea. Took a good few minutes to realise I have an almost infinite supply of pebbles and shells about 20 yards away.

Soupwithstring · 01/12/2024 18:50

I cried because I couldn't remember how to turn the dishwasher on. Called DH to tell him it was broken. I literally couldn't find the on button. I was sahm for many years and had turned the dishwasher on approx 3 times a day for years.

DH pressed a button and the dishwasher started. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Helpagirlout222 · 02/12/2024 21:39

And other one...when all your words come out wrong. I said "cheer" to the person in the shop instead of cheers and couldn't work out what was wrong (cheers v commonly used here as thanks)
And various others like that...just one or two letters or syllables wrong, and nothing makes sense when it comes out!

Beamur · 02/12/2024 21:42

Another one for the missing and mispronounced words here too 😂

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/12/2024 21:44

I have found my people, lol. Was wandering around the house earlier, yet again looking for my phone when I eventually realised I was holding it (WTAF)? And I too bought the same magazine twice recently.

yehisaidit · 02/12/2024 21:44

Oh god I've been mispronouncing / misusing words for a few months, the confusion is madness and I'm getting itchy ears and hot flushes.

It's only now occurred to me I could be going into menopause. Peri? I don't know what the right word is.

I'm 40 next month. I'm still a baby 😭
