Hi Guys,
I am 50 in perimenopause and just started HRT/MHT continous combined. I've been on it for about 4 weeks, feel 100 percent better but am also dealing with continous spotting...... Dr. says that's normal and will go away. Can someone share their experience with me please? Thank you!!!!

I’m 55 and have been on sequential HRT for three years (estradot 100 patches + 200mg utrogestan for 14 days a month). I’d like to move to continuous HRT and will likely need to tell my GP what I’d like them to prescribe. Has anyone experienced pros/cons of sticking with current regime but taking 100mg utrogestan each day, vs combined patches?

Hi @macheriebak

you say you are peri so still having periods? Continuous HRT that you have been put on is for post menopausal women who havent had a natural period for over 12 months. Sequential HRT is for peri menopausal women still having periods. That may be why you are spotting as your own hormones are working in the background.

@CortadoPlease
having separate progesterone and oestrogen is easier for titrating doses and utrogestan is body identical and meant to be better the progesterone in patches.

Ooh sorry OP. I thought I started a new thread! Certainly didn’t mean to hijack yours.
