Patches every 3 days?

I've just moved to patches as 4 pumps of oestrogel was not doing anything for my hot flashes.

I find that when I change the patch after the 4 days, the night fire returns. I want to change the patch every 3 days to retain consistency and obviously I would note down the days.

Are we told to take them twice a week so that women have consistency with the days? It would mean taking 1 extra patch a month - I don't see the problem with that?

The rate of release from the patch _should- be fairly consistent across 4 days however in reality it probably does decline towards the end of the 4 days and if you are very sensitive you may be feeling the effects of that.

There would be no harm (except using more patches) from changing every 3 (or 3 and a half) days. You might also benefit from increasing the strength of the patch if it is only just suppressing your symptoms and they return on day 4 when there's a small drop in the levels.

I do the opposite and wear mine for 4 days to make it last as long as possible (I'm currently buying my hrt from an online pharmacy/Dr as can't get a GP appointment)

Thank you for your reply. I'm already on the highest dose patch.
