Hello, I am 45 and have been on sequential HRT (ie 1mg Sandrena every day and progesterone days 15 to 26) since the last 1.5 years. I had regular periods before starting HRT but shorter cycles (between 19 and 23 days typically) vs my previous clockwork 27 day cycles. Started HRT due to symptoms like insomnia and brain fog which it seems to have helped.
Past few months my cycles have been erratic again- some have been shorter (ie starting a bleed even while taking Utrogestan) but in the current cycle, it is now 6 days since I last took progesterone and no sign of a bleed. This is quite uncommon for me since usually the gap between bleeds is shorter than 25 days, if anything. I'm calling this "bleeds" since not sure if a period or a withdrawal bleed.
Is this common? Or a cause for concern ie I may need to change my HRT dosage?
I have requested for an appointment with my GP but they don't really know much about HRT and gave me very little information to start with. My private health insurance doesn't cover menopause related issues.
