Hiya sorry to sound dumb, I’m 47 and taking progesterone 14 days on 14 days off and oestrogen sachet gel 1mg everyday.

Don’t feel like it does anything though my symptoms are ambiguous like insomnia 🤷‍♀️ Anyway I find it really annoying how long I bleed for. It always starts and stops the week before my period is due, then get 4-5 days of proper period and often spotting otherwise!

barely get a day off. Should I move the date I start the progesterone? Earlier I mean - would that help?

Thanks all

I try and engineer it so the progesterone stops on the morning of actual Day 1. Otherwise I feel worse like my cycle is underneath fighting with the oestrogen and pprogesterone. I got told that couldnt happen and it should regulate my whole cycle but it bloody doesn't! I even had to have a hysteroscopy because they said the lining was too thick, might be polyps, might be cancer, etc etc - no, as I told them, it turnes out it was because that month my body wasn't quite aligned with the cycle. The HRT does help a bit to regularise though.

I have also always had spotting before my period, even before hrt, to the extent that I never really used to know what the first day was.

I'd say try and line up the progesterone dose so it finishes just before the day your period feels like it "properly starts". Over time your cycle probably will come in line a bit with the drugs.
