Help please not been taking hrt right

Please help, I started hrt in September for peri. I am taking 2 pumps of gel daily and progesterone 12 days a month.

i was getting anxiety, headaches, dizziness, brain fog as symptoms of menopause but to be honest these symptoms are worse after about 7 weeks, is this normal? I feel terrible, stressed, anxious, headachey and lethargic, nausea and zero appetite .

I have stupidly realised I should have been taking 2 progesterone tablets instead of the 1 I have been taking. I have also missed a couple of days through feeling rotten.

Will this have caused any adverse effects? is this why I’m feeling worse or is is just not suiting me.

Should I stop completely or carry on?

Hi Watermelon

I doubt that taking too little Utrogestan would be making you feel poorly. Taking to little progesterone might mean that your womb lining is thickening slightly but personally (and I'm but a doctor) I wouldn't be concerned over a couple of months.

Utrogestan can make many of us feel rough, I struggle with it and find it very difficult to take 2 tablets as I am so debilitated by the reaction I have to it. I di find I have less reactions using it vaginally but it's not my favourite drug at all!

Sorry for the dodgy typing, there is no modify option 🙄

Hi@Watermelon212
some women inc myself just can’t tolerate utrogestan
it makes me feel hideous
I’ve gone privately now for a more tailored approach
nobody through my gp has ever helped but I only take it for 7 nights every 8 weeks. And I take it vagi ally but it still makes me feel ill after 4 days !

I was going to make this exact thread!

I realiesed Ive only been taking my Utrogestan at half the recommended dose for months (100 instead of 200mg). I take mine every day and have no idea if there is any big issue with this underdosing.

Does explain why I always run out of patches before pills though!😆

If you take it every day then the usual dose IS 100mg/one tablet. If you take it cyclically (12 days a month) you usual take 200mg/two tablets.

Obviously there are exceptions where GPs prescribe differently but those are the standard doses. It's all on the leaflet.

Thanks, are you in peri or actual menopause? That sounds more doable!
