A peri symptom or something else ?

Apologies this is long .So in December last year I started to experience a lot of peri symptoms - vaginal atrophy, severe itching, joint pain etc . But one thing that has literally almost ruined me is a really weird one - hot/cold sweats and feeling like I'm going to soil myself almost constantly when I do not have immediate access to a toilet . It started to happen at first when in the car even on short journeys I would feel hot and then cold repeatedly then feel like I was seconds away from having diarrhea.

Then it started happening when out for a walk, on the school run or doing the food shopping. If I know that there is not a toilet within reasonable distance, it happens . My husband is convinced it's mind over matter and that it's an anxiety thing but unfortunately the physical symptoms are very real and I've soiled myself several times while out. It's starting to affect my whole life now I'm afraid to use a bus or train , I dread leaving the house and I now can't shop in certain stores as they do not have customer loos.

It also happens a home we currently only have one available loo due to renovations and if someone goes to take a shower I immediately experience the same symptoms. It's taking over my life . I haven't changed my diet in any way and I don't normally suffer from any digestive issues . Can anyone shed any light on what is happening

That sounds like an anxiety thing rather than a bowel thing

It happened to a friend of mine - she got food poisoning on holiday and after that she was so anxious about being near a loo that she made herself ill.

My dad also has anxiety and experienced the same thing - diahorrea and needing to be by a loo all the time.

Both solved by low dose antidepresssnts - so worth talking to your GP.
