Anyone had tingling feet in perimenopause

Hi, I'm 46 with a few symptoms of peri for about 2 years. Cycles shorter, bleeding for longer, heavier, vaginal dryness, worse PMT, insomnia, occ hot sweats, urethral irritation etc
I'm not on any HRT yet but considering
Have had 2 weeks of tingling feet ,which I know can have many causes including quite serious ones.
I'm wondering if anyone had this in perimenopause? And if it went away with HRT?
Thanks in advance

I did and it was low ferritin, caused by heavier, more frequent periods. I had a mirena coil to stop it happening again.

Yep. Tingling toes and one foot in particular would tingle. Then it got worse by turning into restless legs, and that's when I asked for HRT. They weren't the only issues I had before I asked, but when the tingling went to restless legs, it REALLY fucked with my sleep, and I couldn't cope. Fortunately it helped a lot.

I felt like my feet were on fire at night. Sadly I didn’t know it was a symptom so didn’t start. It has resolved now but don’t know whether it’s just worked through or a different medication I’m on is helping.

Yes and hands and sometimes nose and tip of tongue.

I'm also hypothyroid and starting to wonder if it's a combination of fluctuating hormones which affects my thyroid levels temporarily. Sometimes it's for no reason, sometimes near a period and sometimes if I'm over doing it.

For me hrt didn't really help but it might be the other issues. They keep testing me for diabetes due to it so worth keeping an eye on other symptoms of that (I don't have any.)

Ha, had it a bit the last two nights and bingo a period today.

I have this but in my hands too. It was a lot worse and I've had various tests. I've some root nerve irritation in in spine at my neck area which might explain some of it (in my hands and forearms) but that does t really explain my feet. I've no periods now.
I'm not overweight and I don't drink or smoke. I exercise and I eat well and I have no other health issues I know of.

It's better than it was but I can't tell if HRT improved it or not.

I wish I knew what caused it as it bothers me a lot. It's not painful but it very unpleasant and uncomfortable.

Thank you so much everybody for your responses. They are very reassuring as I had been thinking about quite serious caused. It started as I got my period last month so thought was a hormone thing but it's just continued.
I'll get blood tests to check ferritin and thyroid as causes.
I've had restless legs on a night too so maybe it's all connected

Yes that's same for me, it's not exactly painful but I'm aware of my feet fizzing all the time and it's annoying. I hope I get to the bottom of it

Tingling hands were the worst....so annoying and kind of hurt, so woke me up even if the flushes didn't.

Update
Just a little update.
I got my blood results back and ferritin is really low so hopefully fixable with some treatment.
If anyone else is struggling it would be good to get checked.
Thanks everyone for your help

What was your ferritin level if you don't mind me asking. My feet are doing the same

Linesmanofthecounty · 08/12/2024 10:39

I had this in perimenopause 10 years ago, it was also the same time I found out my vitamin d was low. Taking vit d did seem to relieve it, although it does sometimes return.

I'm getting occasional numbness and tingling in my fingers, especiallyat night. I didn't realise that was a peri symptom (unlike the rest of your list, most of which I have too). One thing I don't have, thank goodness, is insomnia. I've had phases of poor sleep in the past, but I'm so tired these days that I'm out like a light!

It was 4. Not so great. I've put myself on ferrous fumarate 210mg bought from the chemist, once at night to try top while I wait for GP appt
