TMI odour question

Sorry in advance for TMI.
Have been having some hormonal changes and wondering if it could be very beginning of early peri (I'm 35 but started periods young so it's possible).
One of the weirdest things I've noticed is my cervical mucus smells different. Apologies for further TMI but it smells like semen, even when there hasn't been any semen in contact iyswim.
I'm not pregnant (negative tests and periods) and it's not infection-y if you get me, all seems healthy down there, it's just there's a much stronger (albeit healthy natural) smell and I'm noticing it every time I go to the bathroom whereas I wouldn't have ever smelt it before. Is this a peri hormonal thing does anyone recognise it.

Oddly, I have the same symptom since I started HRT two months ago... definitely linked to hormonal changes. You can get an appointment with a menopause nurse to discuss at your nearest GP surgery.

Thank you for replying, oh that is very interesting. When I looked it up it seemed like it can be a change in PH but can also mean a hormone imbalance. I didn't find it reported commonly online so relieved to hear someone else understands what I'm describing. Thanks and best wishes with your treatment.

Definite odour changes for me. It's not horrible but definitely different.

Thank you, yes that's exactly it, it's not an unpleasant smell so I'm not worried about infections etc which is what comes up when you google. It's just more noticeable. Thanks for replying
