Perimenopause, long period.

Has anyone had a 12 day and counting period? Is this normal perimenopause stuff or should I be concerned? I thought it had finally all stopped as there was a short 3 day period and then gap of 2 - 3 months before this (probably more like 2, I can’t remember). But no, it started again 12 days ago and although reasonably light is showing no signs on stopping. I’m fed up with this! I’m 54 in a few months and at this stage think “roll on menopause”, but should I be making a GP appointment for this or is 12 days (and probably longer at this rate) usual at this stage?

"A small fibroid, but that shouldn't be big enough to cause any issues, so it's likely just perimenopause." Hurrah...

I have been bleeding for 19 days! This is crazy to me because it is my first time. I am 47...I am just riding it out at this point. Reading some of these posts gives me hope it will stop...anyone had an ablation?

I wish mine would, I'm on 5 weeks now and gone heavy all of a sudden.

I hate that they do this, oh it's just menopause, what if it isn't? They won't check hormones to make sure and are really reluctant to refer you for a scan. All the information out there says don't put up with it yet doctors expect you to!

I saw the GP and they said it's menopause innit 🤷‍♀️

So now it's my new normal.

My surgery is total triage now, you fill out a form and they get back to you. It actually seems better.
I was on for 6 weeks straight, started fairly light then went really heavy with clots.
My GP has given me norseteron to stop the bleeding, I'm booked in for an ultrasound and she's done bloods, my hormones have come back really high so I have to have a telephone consultation.
