HRT dosage change question

tarziew · 24/10/2024 16:22

Some help needed pls!
I’ve been on Evorel Sequi 50mg (with progesterone included in the patches) for two years and my GP agreed to increase my dose to 75mg. However this means taking the progesterone as a separate pill on days 14-28.

My query is that when she gave me the prescription I was on Day 2 of my period and I still had two 50mg patches left (which had progesterone in). She told me to use them then switch up.

My question is should I start taking the progesterone pills on days 14 of my current cycle or day 14 of the new dosage?

Thanks in advance

Last month I was the same as you. I took the tablets on day 14 to 28. So started the higher dose patch on the 10th so took tablets from 24th. Hope that makes sense. Xx

Thanks so I should take them on day 14 of my new protocol, NOT day 14 of my current cycle?

@tarziew The progesterone in the patch should be enough, no need to take Utrogestan as well if the patch is 75mcg and has the right amount of progesterone in it. Unless you're topping it up with an estrogen-only patch?
Is there an Evorel sequi of 75mcg or are you adding something else?

Taking extra progesterone is usually for women on high doses of estrogen who use only Utrogestan .

Alas the 75mg doesn’t have progesterone included, unlike the 50mg, so I need to take it as a supplement on days 14-28.

Days 01-14 75mg patch
Days 14-28 75mg patch + progesterone pill

i think I will count the day 14 from my new protocol, not from my current cycle.
