Just wondering really how other people handled it.

I also have pots syndrome,

Which gets worse through the summer and when I'm tired,

I work night shifts as a nurse and my shift pattern is a bit all over the place. I did discuss with manager about grouping my shifts together. Back last summer but it hasn't really happened.

I feel like the tiredness is making my symptoms worse, or my symptoms are making my tiredness worse,

Night sweats
Tearful
Itchiness
Restless legs

More recently the pains in my legs are unbearable, I was driving to work earlier in tears having had to pull over because of pains in my thighs and knees,

I'm seeing GP on Friday about HRT.

But I was wondering if it's worth asking for set shifts for a few months until I can get it all under control. Do you think this is reasonable? I can't afford to drop my hours, I can't switch to days for child care reasons,

I've probably slept about an hour today in between night shifts and my job is stressful in an Itu setting.

I'm a nurse too OP. Have been in perimenopause for about 3 years. I found my symptoms much easier to manage once I went on HRT..However I do still struggle with nightshift and getting enough sleep during the day between shifts. And like you I get awful pain in my joints, especially in my Iegs. I would self refer to occ health and see if they can support you with a set shift pattern. I have to say though, I am struggling with shifts in general more than I used to. So much so that I really want out of nursing altogether.
