Bleeding after 6 years of no periods

56 year old woman here, last period 2018 been put on Elleste Duet Conti for hot flushes, vaginal dryness, low libido.

Hot flushes gone but had terrible bleeding at the end of month 1 and month 2 (needing proper sanitary towels). Just starting month 3. My breasts are terribly sore so not really helping improve sex life!!

I need to go back to GP at end of Month 3.

Should I be asking for something different?

Should I be having such bad bleeding?

I really don't want to go back to monthly bleeding.

You might want to use a lower dose of estrogen. Spotting and some bleeding is to be expected on conti for 6 months but not usually a really heavy period.

As you're getting closer to 60 rather than 50 (!) it's also more common to use transdermal HRT like patches (or gel for the estrogen) to avoid risks of blood clots. Something to discuss?

Any post menopausal bleeding needs to be reported to your GP. Normally nothing to worry about and likely due to your HRT, but needs to be checked.

Vagirux has helped me with vaginal dryness. I had my first ever Mirena fitted 3 weeks ago aged 58 to combat bleeding but it also seems to be helping out the Vagirux.
Testosterone has returned my libido.
