Face cream for sore red blotchiness

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good face cream (night & day) for red, sore skin? It flares up at any time and is definitely due to peri as I'm 52 and feel awful the majority of the time!
What hasn't helped is using an expensive night cream from Avon. I have had to stop using it. It's really sore and I look a mess!
Thanks x

Aveeno face creams are lovely and soothing with no nasties - they are oat based. Also the Superdrug vitamin e range - face wash, day and night cream are amazing on my sensitive skin and are usually on offer too

A homemade aloe vera moisturizer will soothe the sore, plus it's all-natural.

Cetaphil is great - the dermatologist recommended it for DH after light therapy for pre cancerous cells. Soothed his sore blotchy face.

Ceravie, Cetaphil, Altruist. Avoid known irritants like perfume, alcohol, or too many actives and additives I actually find watery lotions very dehydrating creams are thicker and richer. You want to nourish and repair the skin barrier so a very gentle cleanser too and not too hot water, scrubbing with flannels etc.

Worth checking it’s not rosacea too which I suffer from.

Altruist have an anti redness cream. I have super sensitive skin and I love their products which have been formulated by dermatologists and are very reasonable. Available on Amazon.

Fififizz thank you for this. That's very helpful. I don't think it's rosacea. It's dry skin but red and sore too so not sure.

Great brands here. Le Roche Posay is great too. Cicablast balm, I use occasionally on my 57yo skin. Maybe after a seaswim or an outdoor day, but I don’t have particular problems, I just sometimes feel my thinning drying skin can do with an extra hug.
