HRT and alcohol intolerance

Has anyone else found their alcohol tolerance plummet since starting hrt? I've been on everol patches for a month now and have barely been able to drink after having one night out and being so so ill after a few wines- drinking an amount that would never usually have affected me? Since then I tried drinking lager but started to really feel it after one pint so it's scared me off drinking
Not necessarily a bad thing but not sure if it's related to the hrt

Yep same here, same HRT. I'm treating it as a good thing. Although I'm alright with jack Daniels but you can only have one or two of those anyway

Zero toelrance for wine and cider anymore here too, but I've related it to menopause rather than HRT. I've seen articles explaining that it's linked to changing reactions to histamines in menopause. I take anti-histamines if I want to drink wine, but mostly I don't bother anymore as it makes me feel so ill. I'm fine with gin though...😉

Yes - white wine headaches - fine with gin & tonic though!

Good opportunity to cut back on drinking I guess. I'm a big wine fan so likely to drink a lot less if that's off the table

Not on HRT, but not really able to drink since peri and now menopause. The worst culprits are red wine to which I have an instant reaction, and beer which now gives me shocking headaches.

Absolutely! I get palpitations, flushing, insomnia and anxiety for days if I drink just a little bit of alcohol. I'm linking it with menopause and not HRT. I feel it would be a lot worse if I wasn't taking HRT.
I rarely drink now and feel so much better for it.

Interesting. I am on the same patches . Unfortunately I can still drink copious amounts of wine so it hasn't affected me . In saying that I am not a huge drinker normally but just been on holiday so have had a few heavy nights recently and been fine not noticed any difference to my tolerance and have been on HRT over 2 years now
I guess it just depends on the individual

I'm in peri and only on progesterone but I found even before starting it, alcohol was doing horrific things to me mentally. Even one or two glasses of wine affected my sleep and I would wake up feeling horribly anxious and jittery and it would last 2 entire days. I also started getting facial flushing after only a few sips- so thats very interesting what a PP mentioned above about histamines!

I dont drink any more and feel so much calmer and more energetic.

What really annoys me is other people constantly saying "oh come on, you can have just one!- dont be boring" etc. I've explained why I cant - but they dont seem to bloody get it. I wont budge however, the mental after effects are simply not worth it to me. Wine is simply not worth feeling like crap for the following few days.
