When does the bleed/period stop on HRT?

I have been on HRT for three years now (various doses, some confusion, but things seem to have settled to low level feeling rubbish atm, rather than massive awful fluctuations and all the horrible symptoms on the list. I am on Everol 50 and (I know this is odd) 100mg of Ustrogestan for 12 days of the month. I have a regular bleed - more akin to a period than I thought it would be and it doesn't seem to be changing or diminishing much - still 4 days, still 2 days of cramps and pain, 2 days of heavy bleeding (and the full cycle of emotional stuff and fatigue).

Dr has suggested because of age (51) I just go onto daily progesterone, but I am unsure as a really struggle to tololerate it.

Any thoughts?

Hmmm. Don't know - should you be bleeding at all?!

I am on femi conti which is just a daily tablet and no bleeding for years.

But i don't know about that stuff you're on. Maybe ask GP. I don't think you should be bleeding on hrt.

This is nonsense! Many women bleed on HRT. I do!

The routine I am on is a bit like the combined pill - so regular breakthrough bleed once a month. I expected it to slow down and eventually disappear, but after three years nothing is changing. For me HRT manages sweats, (but not hot flashes) and painful joints, not really helping with tiredness or "period" pain and mood. I was just wondering when the period has stopped when on this regimne for others and/or if I should just move to daily of progesterone and oestrogen as indicated by age. I can't really tell where I am at atm. I feel like i may not be anywhere near menopause (period actually stopping) at all.

I know it's differnt for everyone

Thanks for putting me right. I definitely am not supposed to. In fact, when i did have a light bleed, i was sent straight for biopsy.

I never claimed to be an oracle on hrt though. I did actually say i didn't know about the hrt the op was on. But you did not choose to highlight that part of my post, for some reason.

Strange.

@CheeseDreamz you are on a seqenal regime so will always bleed whilst on this regime. You have a withdrawal bleed from the progesterone.Where you still having periods when you started HRT.
there are 2 HRT regimes a continuous one where progesterone is taken everyday this is for post menopausal women so women who haven’t had a natural period for 12 months or longer and is the no bleed method.
there is the seqenal regime for women who still have periods and only take the progesterone for 12-14 days a month and have a bleed.
the dose is 200mg for 12-14 days a month though.
if you go on continuous regime too early your natural periods can break through and cause irregular bleeding.
also if it is not making all your symptoms sounds like the oestrogen needs increasing.
