Anyone else had this? Been on it 4 weeks
not sure if I should persevere……or ask gp to swop to vagifem?
it’s so so sore …..the vulva area as well as vagina🥺
I was getting a lot of UTIs ….this seems to have eased and not getting up in night to wee…..but this burning is really bad
ps I can’t take hrt as I’ve had Breast cancer

I use Ovestin and have never had anything like that. I'd talk to your doctor about it. Were you very irritated before you started using it? Unless you have a lot of atrophy/irritation that has to heal from using the cream, maybe you have a sensitivity to an ingredient in it?

I should add, I only use it more externally. I find inserting it causes discomfort.

I found ovestin uncomfortable to use and got some very light bleeding. Vagifem is fine. Still dab a little of the cream on the outside if it feels like it needs it and that seems OK.

I’m not sure how much vaginal atrophy I actually have? I’m going to gp today….i starting taking it after getting recurrent UTIs …..up and down to toilet in the night….which I don’t actually have anymore …..but the soreness in vagina and vulva is constant …..think I will ask for vagifem instead

Since you have problems with UTIs, I thought I'd just mention I take cranberry as well and find that helps a lot with comfort in that area.

I couldn't get on with Ovestin at all, had dreadful feelings of burning and soreness along with itchiness. My GP changed me to Estriol cream 0.01% - it was like night and day - none of the horrible side effects of Ovestin and was actually very soothing too. There is something in Ovestin that i was obviously allergic to.
