HRT insomnia

I've been on the Evorel patches since June, started on the 50 patch and felt great for a while then the bladder incontinence, low mood and anxiety all came back.
I've now been moved on to the 75 patch AND been given the Vagirux pessary to target the bladder issues. I'm 48 and have a Mirena coil fitted.
Whilst the pessary has sorted out my bladder, the 75 patch is causing horrific insomnia! I literally cannot sleep. I've also noticed hair loss from the top of my head, my hot flushes have actually worsened and I'm tearful out of the blue. And my feet are killing me!!! Why oh why do the soles of my feet hurt so much?!?! I'm like an old lady!!
Am I overdoing it and need to drop back down to 50?
Or literally just try the pessary and stop the patches for a while?

P.S. I hate perimenopause...really, I literally hate this!

I had anxiety and insomnia with oestrogel until I decreased the dosage but then my symptoms were not being managed. I’m now on everol 50s and finding they work much better for me. It might be worth talking to your doctor about swapping HRT type?

It might be better to swap to gel. That way you can change the dose yourself in much smaller increments than with patches.

You've also only been on hrt for 3 months. That's the usual timescale for a trial, then a review. It may have been better to stick with 50mcg for another few weeks to see if this was a blip.

It's really hard to say because on the other hand, you may simply need more estrogen (the 75mcgs) but it needs another 3 months before you can decide.

Thank you for your advice. I've gone back down to a 50 patch, plus the Vagirux every 2-3 days and I feel much less wired already. And my feet don't hurt as much. So it could be I had too much oestrogen floating around my body. Time will tell. Just hope the insomnia calms down. A friend has recommended magnesium taurate for sleeping but I'll try without any extra stuff for a while first.
