Which anti depressant?

The time has come, I need an anti depressant before I cave into some kind of depression.

Post menopausal, can't have HRT due to secondary breast cancer ( hormone driven) no ovaries and on hormone blockers. My MH has fallen off a cliff! I'm raging, angry and sad.

I don't want one which causes side effects or makes me feel worse ( I've got to work).

@CuckooLaLa thanks. I will ask about that one ( venlafaxine) I'm loathed to try any to be honest, but I have to do something soon. I'm still managing to work, so that's something!

@JinglingSpringbells yes she probably could prescribe. It's easier to get the prescription from the GP I think, as my NHS referral for Liverpool women's hasn't come through yet.
