What are the benefits of HRT for post-menopausal women?

Hi, I am trying to get HRT from my GP but she has said No! I don't have menopause symptoms but I want the other benefits of HRT, such a helping to prevent heart disease. I know there are more benefits. Does anybody know what they are?

Many thanks.

You need to say you do have symptoms, and list a few.

They have done good info but just see another GP or woman’s health nurse practitioner, your surgery should have a menopause specialist.

A GP won't and can't prescribe for prevention- HRT isn't licensed for that. Only exception is existing loss of bone density putting you at risk of osteoporosis.

You either need to say you have symptoms or see a private consultant who will most likely be more flexible but if you do that, do your homework and choose one who is up to speed on HRT as not all are.
