Will HRT help or hinder?

Hey, I'm 39. I have had periods for last 3 years that have gone for example 33 days one month, 24 the next, 31 the next, 22 the next, 33, 21 etc. Since July this year I went 30 days, 10 days, 22 days, 14 days 18 days. Within a week of the past 2 periods I have been back on. Painful, heavy and like nothing I have seen before and always been on the heavier side. Headaches and feeling sick.

Dr has spoken of HRT, but scan to rule out nasties first, had that all fine. They said I was ovulating yesterday, expect a period in 2 weeks... Today I got a period. Said they could only see 8 follicles on both ovaries. She was really good and thorough.

I am tired all the time, brain fog to the extreme, hair shedding, put it all down to my hashimotos thyroid issue. Levels came back normal, so hormone tests were ordered. Higher than have been but confirm nothing.

Does HRT help? Being 39 I am concerned when I will need it to, such as what age. And any idea at all how long until they get more spaced out? ... This is relentless! Thanks in advance.
