The neverending period. Anyone else?

I'm 54 and have been peri menopausal for 10 years. Through it all my periods have always stayed pretty regular even when taking Tamoxifen. But this latest period has been dragging on (and off) for nearly 4 weeks now. It's not heavy at all, just getting the occasional cramps and sometimes it stops completely for 48 hours, but then starts again.

It's so annoying. Has anyone else had this?

See your GP.
You need a scan. The drug you're on can cause endometrial hyperplasia.

Thank you, but I haven't taken Tamoxifen for just over a year now.

Karma bit my arse. Dd was moaning about periods the other day . I said I have not had one for about 3 months 🥳. Couple days later I come on really heavy and feel like im in the horror movie carrie. That will teach me.

Aww bless you. It's the unpredictability of it that's so frustrating isn't it?

I’m 58 and been bleeding since I started continuous HRT 18 months ago. Since Xmas, I’ve been bleeding for 2 weeks (one week is spotting) and then have 2 weeks off.
I’ve had 2 transvaginal scans and all ok, but I’m finally going to try the Mirena Coil - having it fitted at 2.30pm today!

I had this last Christmas- bleeding on and off for 4 weeks! So annoying! I thought I would see how it goes and all has been back to normal since so put it down to entering perimenopause

It would be best to see your GP and have a scan because even though you stopped the drug a year ago, any excessive bleeding needs investigating.
