Are sinus issues related

Hi I'm 45. Periods every 3 weeks, very heavy. Been like this for about 6 years, saw gyne about 4 years ago could find no issues. I did randomly skip a period last July.
Also get insomnia maybe 4/5 times a month where I wake in early hours and can't get back to sleep. Rest of time sleep through (7-8 hours) but never feel full rested.
I get night sweats again not every night but several times a month. (These wake me)

But what's been happening for past 8/9 months is about twice a month I feel completely exhausted (like struggle to move about/climb stairs etc) always accompanying this is sinus pain/face pain. Sometimes I get headache, slight early cold symptoms- ear/throat ache. Brain fog/dizziness. A few times I feel so bad I have to phone in sick to work. On my days off I end up doing bare minimum and laying/sleeping. It usually lasts 3-7 days.

I can't think what's causing it, dh wondered if it was linked to periods, I considered a deficiency although I take iron, vitamin d and a multivitamin. Or stress? Although my mood feels ok.

Any ideas ?

It's most likely peri menopause.

Make an appt with your GP if you're willing to think about hrt, not so much for the sinus issues but with all your other symptoms- lack of sleep, and the rest. Classic peri meno symptoms.

Are you on HRT? Those feel like pretty intense peri menopause symptoms overall.

Re the tiredness, my instinct says likely to be low iron although you say you are taking iron (do you make sure not to take it with caffeeine - I know more than one person who has been happily popping their iron with their morning coffee and not finding any benefit as a result).

For me, my sinuses do tend to play up and feel bad when I'm run down, tired, weak etc. A couple of years ago after they flared up very badly and I had a raging infection i got a long dose of antibiotics and weirdly I see much fewer flareups - the doctor did mutter something about sinus infections sometimes lurking, at a low grade level, for ages (hence why he gave me the big dose of antibiotics as this wasn't a new thing).

Also, re your iron - heavy periods every 3 weeks would mean you need prescription strength iron, or possibly even something more hardcore (I think they sometimes do transfusions even). A friend was in a similar situation - once her iron levels come back she's now on the maximum OTC dose, just to MAINTAIN her levels at the bare minimum. The OTC ones didn't do shit before that.

Thanks I've had sinus infections in the past . I ruled it out due to not lasting very long. No hrt yet.

I've had ferritin on and off over years I'll mention potential low iron. I hoped taking supplement would be enough

I've got an appointment in two weeks. I think I'm going to write it all down.
