Im now starting to even bore myself with the menopause. I'm 49, nearly 50 and have had symptoms since I was 45 but after the hot flushes cooled down, excuse the pun, it's been insomnia which brings on anxiety and feeling paranoid. It's definitely starting to cause me problems at work as I don't know where I am as I'm constantly overthinking what I've said, and have I upset someone. This then stops me from sleeping and then repeat.
I tried HRT for a few months, so don't know if that's what's caused it or if it would of happened anyway?
This horrible feeling just comes from no where, and just makes me feel so crappy about everything, but then it goes and I'm back to myself
Can anyone relate to any of this? My friend said try magnesium? I've got evening primrose, but they're too big for me to swallow. I suppose I just want to cleanse my body hoping to cleanse my mind

I got a sick not off my GP for anxiety and depression. I was off for two weeks and work were fine if they weren't I wasn't made aware. I do shift work, so reasonable adjustments were made for a few months to not vary my shifts too much so I could get into a sleep pattern and routine. Since then I have also stepped down a role to take some pressure off. I feel so much better now, I can relax at home and not worry about work. How are you feeling today? Hope you managed to get some sleep.

Hey, thanks for reply. I managed a few hours, I'm finding myself sat up half asleep, I was standing the other night??
I'm back to work today, Sunday after having two weeks off, so I will see how that goes
I'm thinking of cutting back on a day at work just to give myself less to worry about?

Ugh. I have had a few symptoms here and there over the years. I am 49 this year. But the last few months they have ramped up. During my period they are horrible. After my period is ugh. I actually left work early today. I’m sure I’m not ill but I just couldn’t do the day.

I have had anxiety for months which hits at random times Pain in my arms and legs. Feel terrible. I cannot imagine doing this for years on end. I am on the pill still. And not sure whether to come off it. I had a horrible weekend a few weeks ago. And I just feel like today was just too much. I have other health problems as well that affect me daily and this on top is sending me over the edge if I’m honest.

Edited

I would like to say it gets easier when your periods stop but I can't, if anything I've found the physical symptoms better but mentally it's been horrendous.
I'm suffering from quite bad insomnia at present, if bad I will take "one a night Nytol", which I find lets me have a full night's sleep, just have to make sure I take it early enough otherwise I have to get up and I'm still groggy, especially if I haven't been sleeping well. If taken early enough I'm fine.
I'm 50 in couple of months and haven't had a period for a year, the hot flushes have gone. Actually one physical symptom is really itchy skin! I've got scratch marks

Pretty sure that's a load of bollocks from your GP. They might not be able to continue a private prescription (though my GP does), but they can start you on a new course of HRT.

I've registered with new doctor, so will see what they have to say 🤞🏼
