I've been taking hrt for about a year - really helped hot flushes etc . On the gel and 12 days of progesterone. Got history of heavy painful periods but now when I have my period the pain is getting unbearable- on a par with labour no joke. I do take mefamanic acid and another acid one also co codomol but I'm sweating nearly being sick with awful cramps going into my thighs etc
Can hrt cause periods to be worse like this ??
I am happy with hrt apart from this but don't know how long I can put up with this for to be honest !! Please help !!

I’ve started gel and progesterone tablets, continuos. I’ve had 2 periods which is normal to start with but as things settle, I won’t have periods at all. ( hopefully)
Could you switch to this? Is there a reason you take progesterone for only 12 days ?

Yes I’ve had period pain but it’s been mild.

Maybe see the dr / nurse again ?
