Left with only herbal remedies after impact on Liver

Looking for some advice or pointing in the right direction.
I was given HRT at the beginning of the year (Oestrogen gel), with progesterone for 14days. This coupled with Estradiol vaginal tablets.
I’ve had to come off all but the Estradiol as my Liver ALT levels raised to just below 500.
However my symptoms are back and I’ve been left with just herbal remedies from GP.
Does anyone know if there are any other options that are less intensive on the Liver?
I’m 44 and already have issues with NAFLD.

NAFLD?

It's really unusual for body identical estrogen to affect your liver.

TBH, if you reacted to a prescribed med that's usually very safe, you shouldn't use herbs. One of the most commonly used ones- black cohosh- is known to cause liver issues when used long term in some people.

Your Gp needs to refer you to a specialist as there are some drugs that can be prescribed for hot flushes including ones that are new and your GP may not know of.

@Sajacas I'm not dismissing diet as being helpful but the author of the book isn't a doctor in the same way as we recognise that in the UK. She's a naturopath and chef. The high fat diet she's suggesting it possibly like the keto diet?

@JinglingSpringbells Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
I think I’m going to be asked to be referred to specialist, my main symptoms are headaches and migraines. Thanks for heads up about black cohosh, as I’ve seen that advised.

@Sajacas I don’t want to go on high fat diet, was looking to see what medical options there are.
