I'm slim(ish) but since going into menopause my belly has taken on a life of its own.

It's huge...

Can I do anything to tame it or do I just have to ride it out?

Have you been food craving since going into meno? If yes, you need to manage first your eating habits. Then, consult your healthcare provider for a tailored diet and exercise plan.

I heard it's because as we make less oestrogen, the body tries to make it from abdominal fat. If that's the case, the solution should be HRT, shouldn't it?

I currently look pregnant. Not sure if it's Meno-Belly or a cake baby.

I'm on the lowest dose of HRT Oestrogen (can't remember what it's called, it's in tablet form).

Menopause has definitely given me more of a sweet tooth but I wouldn't say I eat more....I just want more!

If you really have a swollen abdomen it is worth seeing your GP to have a pelvic examination to rule out anything nasty. It is rare, but worth checking.
