Flushes which feel like panic attacks

My periods stopped two years ago, tried patches, didn't work for me.
I have been having flushes for around two years ( apart from when I was on the patches for around six months )
I recently received some very upsetting news regarding a close family member - end June, since receiving this news I have found my flushes have changed , I can only describe the feeling as absolute impending dread, when I think of the news I received or anything worrying / stressful It will automatically bring on a flush however it's much more than a hot sweat it feels more like absolute panic, has anyone else experienced this whilst going through the menopause?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm really struggling with this. Thank you !

It sounds like anxiety when you describe impending doom, anxiety and panic attacks are not uncommon in peri.
When you say patches didn’t work for you, can you describe how, and did you try anything else. I like gel as I’m in control of how much I have.
