Oestrogen patch and a bath

Just had a bath and my patch came off and floated around in the bath 😂
what do you do if you have a patch and want a soak??

I’ve never had mine come off in the bath tbh. Did you have bath oil in the water or do you moisturiser near the patch? I stick mine on my hip, not had a problem with them coming off in 5+ years.

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 24/07/2024 08:37

Mine never come off in the bath either. Are you particularly slippery or smooth, OP? <side eye to long abandoned body scrub>

Twoshoesnewshoes · 24/07/2024 09:15

Might be a bit smooth 😂
no oil in the bath or anything, just femfresh 🙄
hmmm I’ll try again!

Which patches have you got?

They vary from super sticky to not remotely sticky at all.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 24/07/2024 09:37

Evoril 50

Evorel I found medium sticky in that it mainly stays on but falls off on a hot day.

Estradot is the stickiest.

YourMumDressesYouFunny · 24/07/2024 10:24

My patches are Evorel too. My baths tend to be so hot my face ends up sweating but they’ve never come off. I do have to put mine on when sitting down though as I find if I put them on when stand, they then creams when sitting and the edges can lift. Maybe water got in that way if you put them on standing up?

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 24/07/2024 11:18

Mine are Evorel 75 and I always put them in the same place (alternating sides though) to avoid puckering/stretching. Maybe try experimenting with location, OP?

embolass · 24/07/2024 11:26

Everglades 75 for 4 years, never been an issue. Use bar soap to wash as gels can leave residue and affect stickability

benid · 24/07/2024 11:29

I use Evorel too and normally only have a bath on a Sunday night now, when I change the patch! That's because I like a bath as hot as the Sun's core and I think the glue disagrees.

A not-too-hot bath at other times doesn't cause an issue though, even with bubble bath in.

PiggieWig · 24/07/2024 11:36

Wow, my patch feels like it’s stuck with superglue. I have to brace myself for removal. One time I slid down the bath a bit and it semi peeled and stuck to the bottom of the bath, causing me to also be stuck to the bath.
Mine’s Evorel 100 but I imagine the glue is the same

Twoshoesnewshoes · 24/07/2024 13:08

Thanks, backstreet’s back putting them on standing up so I’ll try sitting down and changing location.
also like your idea @benid that patch change night is bath night!

benid · 24/07/2024 14:18

@Twoshoesnewshoes bath night every sunday whether I need it or not Grin Grin

ClaudiaWinklepanda · 25/07/2024 10:25

Although... on bath night you'll need to put it on at least an hour and a half before getting in (maybe just after bringing in t'coal fert fire) or afterwards when your skin is completely dry and has cooled down (perhaps when you're repairing your clogs or boiling tripe?). Grin

benid · 25/07/2024 12:36

@ClaudiaWinklepanda 😄

Twoshoesnewshoes · 25/07/2024 15:12

I’ll do it after clog repair but before sending the little one up the chimney 👍🏻

Mine always fall off in the bath so I’ve had to almost give up on baths. FemSeven patches, they quite often come off in the shower too.
