Peri-menopause or hormonal imbalance? My period won't stop...

Hello ladies, looking for some help or advice.

I have been having irregular and heavy periods for the last 4 years since having my copper coil removed (I was 39 and me and my husband were TTC). Everything was hunky dory before that - regular as clockwork and bled for 5/6 days until the next month. Since the removal I skip months of periods, then have a massive bleed where I am flooding and passing clots that are so big to the point I can feel them bursting out of me and they push out tampons. GP's have prescribed tranexamic acid (which never ever works) and I have now been bleeding fairly heavily since 17th June with no end in sight.

Could this be peri? I have no other symptoms and the GP just last week said my blood test results did not suggest menopausal or close to. I don't really want to go back on birth control as we would still love a baby although I now have DOR and an AMH of 0.2 so its not likely to happen. Or have I got a hormonal imbalance and would it be worth perhaps going on the mini pill for 2/3 months to try and balance out my hormones? What can I take to stop the bleeding and give me a break..Its affecting everything, work, my social life and wanting to go anywhere in fear of flooding not to mention my relationship with my dh.

Thanks for reading xx

I hope you sort out your health problems, hormone imbalance can be the cause or if you are perimenopause.

Thank you. Still waiting to hear about an appointment. My anxiety is overwhelming I feel on the brink of a panic attack all day and night.
