When I started HRT I was on 50mg combi patches. I then went to a 75 patch and 2 x utrogestan for 2 weeks out of 4 2 years ago. Last year, my Dr then advised to take 1 utrogestan continuously as it was just over 5 years. For the first 6 months I had some slight spotting every 5 weeks and my symptoms (sore boobs, head ache and hot sweats came back) My Dr advised this February to up my patch to 100 and to take 2 utrogestan to help with the bleeding and because I'm younger (49) i may need the extra dose. This was working ok, a little bleeding the first 2 months then it settled to spotting one day every 4-5 weeks. I am now on month 5 and it is still the same, maybe a little more spotting but still every 4-5 weeks and my symptoms are coming back. I feel so hot and the headaches are back along with feeling tired and generally like I was a few years ago.
I don't understand how it can work then seems to stop. I take the tablets religiously every night and apply the patches as I always have on the top of my thigh. Anyone else had a similar experience as I was under the impression 100mg patch was the highest? Thank you
