Evorel conti patches - 50mcg to 75mcg

Hi just wondered if anyone has gone from the standard 50 patch to 75. I’m 56 and been on the patches about 6 years. They have been brilliant for me. Worked well and really convenient. I call them my happy patches.

However I’ve been feeling a little of my symptoms coming back. Very mild but I spoke to a doctor about possibly the next strength patch.

She has agreed but left a message saying I was also need to take 2 progesterone tablets every night. I’ve been googling and can’t work out why.

I was really hoping to just stick the patch on. I can’t call doctor back as it’s a central cllinic. Just wondered if anyone has had this?

Thanks

I thought Evorel Conti patches only came in 50mg? So has she prescribed you estrogen only 75mg patch, which means you need separate progesterone via the tablets.

That’s what I thought. I checked I have the 50. Apparently they come in 25, 50, 75 and 100.

Google search says -

Evorel patches are available in four strengths: 25mcg, 50mcg, 75mcg and 100mcg. Most people start on a low dose and this is titrated over time according to individual symptoms.

Evorel Sequi or Conti?

TheHappyOliveLion · 17/07/2024 21:28

I'm on 75mg patches and 5mg progesterone tablet,, been going well but starting to get very anxious and really itchy skin and very tirex

I was on Evorel 50 sequi ( so plain oestrogen patches then 2wks of oesrogen and progesterone combined in same patch ) Also began feeling symptoms returning and so increased to 75. But sequi doesn’t come in 75 or 100. Therefore it’s a plain oestrogen Evorel 75 patch worn constantly but to get the progesterone you need to take it in tablet form, last 12-14 days of your ‘cycle’ That make sense hopefully 🤞🏻

Thank you everyone. Really helpful. I am finding it confusing. The Evorel Conti 50 is so easy - just a patch twice a week. It has everything in it so no need for additional progesterone tablets, gels or anything. I still don’t understand why the Conti 75 can’t just be the same mix but slight higher doses.

i hadn’t heard of the Evorel Sequi and can see that is more of an oestrogen only patch so understand the need for the progesterone,

I will see what the prescription is when it comes through.

it is confusing (if it was for men it’d be so easy !). Think I should of said conti doesn’t come in 75s , though why they can’t make them 🤷🏻‍♀️🤬

This is my problem too. I used to have the combined 50mcg Evorel patch with an extra 25mcg estrogen only patch, it worked well. But that wasn't enough progesterone, so I was switched to a 75mcg patch with utrogestan. I can't stand the utrogestan (however I take it).
Why isn't there a 75mcg combined patch?

I have wondered wondered if I could use one and a half 50mcg combined patches. It would provide the right proportion of hormones. I'm just a bit wary as Norethisterone isn't as safe as utrogestan.

Evorel sequi is for sequential HRT (2wks combined and 2 weeks estrogen only).
There's two types of patch in one box.
