Had another of these symptoms. Crying, wailing and suicidal thoughts. Regular GP is useless

Anyone recommend a private specialist? Is Newson worth the money? I would have to go online for that as live too far away

Anyone in Oxford that is recommended?

Do you mean that your GP won't prescribe HRT? Are they refusing?
Have you asked for it? Simply stated that your symptoms are peri meno and you would like to try HRT?
Or are you already using HRT and it's not working?

The British Menopause Society has a list of specialists on their website. There are more who aren't on that list.

You can also search your local private hospitals - under Gynaecologists- and look at their specialisms.

You could also do the same further afield, if you could travel to London. Most private consultants need to see you once every 6 months.

The Newson Clinic's fees are pretty much standard for private appts, although I'd say they do appear to charge almost the same as consultants even though most of their doctors are just GPs with meno training.

I'm sorry you feel you've had no help but to be really honest, if you could tell your GP that you want HRT and do your own research on what you fancy (tablets, patches, gel etc) you may get all of that on the NHS.
