High estrogen - HRT

Hello.

I started HRT Evorel 50 patches earlier this year with two utrogestan tablets evenings second half of cycle. Initial bloods taken 6-8 weeks later showed estradiol around 300 which my gp was happy with. More recent bloods show a level of nearly 1500 on day 12 of cycle. Is this just peri hormonal fluctuations or more problematic? I don't feel great and have gained quite a few pounds. Do I just need to test again?

There is no need to test estrogen on HRT.
The results aren't accurate. My consultant doesn't test at all (and I've used HRT for over 15 years) as they say the result can vary over the day.

Is this your GP testing as that would be unusual on the NHS.

The 'test' is if the dose is controlling your symptoms.
