Peri Paraesthesia?

Anyone experienced this? Numbness and tingling? Where in your body and what other symptoms? Dr is suggesting it may be linked to peri for me - not many other signs of peri other than night sweats though…

Feet and hands. Its horrible.

Blossom4538 · 04/07/2024 23:03

Has anything helped?

mine started with tongue, now it’s in feet, hands and face too. I have no idea whether it’s linked to hormones or not.

My daughter had nerve problems before she was diagnosed with Coeliac disease. Could it be that?

I have been getting pins and needles for a while now that I’m sure are menopause related. GP is doing bloods to check nothing more sinister is going on though…

Pixiedust1234 · 04/07/2024 23:19

I've had it for years and got it dismissed as fibromyalgia. I don't think it is but now everything i have is either fibromyalgia or old age (I'm not even 60) 🙄

It would be interesting to see if it's actually a common symptom to a lot of women.

Blossom4538 · 04/07/2024 23:21

I get really tired and dizzy too…
it’s a worry!

I don’t think coeliac. I hope your Daughter is ok

Although, I have been getting an occasional rash with small blisters…see that’s a coeliac symptom…not many stomach pains. Weight loss, tiredness, dizziness

I have this in spades since I've slid into menopause.

I find doubling a complete vitamin B complex helps. I used to wake with particularly bad symptoms and this subsided with extra vitamin B each day.

Apileofballyhoo · 05/07/2024 00:16

Have you had your B12 checked, OP?

EBearhug · 05/07/2024 00:17

B12 deficiency can present like this.

This is interesting as I’ve started waking up with a numb hand every night. I think I’m beginning peri too

Blossom4538 · 05/07/2024 09:57

Thanks, yes, bloods all fine - B12 fine

I will start taking b vits I think. It started at 50. Post menopause.

Thanks for thread.

No, nothing seems to help. Diizy, tired, also.

CheerfulBunny · 05/07/2024 11:57

Yes, I've had it for years. Mine is usually a 'creepy crawly' feeling down my leg or arm although I had a weird period of pins and needles in my fingers, almost like nettle rash. Very alarming but only lasted about a week or so. Perimenopause is so intense and weird. I've had a lot of the less common symptoms. To be honest I just think 'God, what next!?' now. I must be getting on for ten years of this strangeness and it feels sodding never ending - but that's another thread..
