If you are on HRT via NHS prescription, what are your approx monthly costs?

Just curious to know how much on average people spend if they pay for their HRT prescription, as I have no idea what to expect?

I'm also unclear how many different pills / products are used on average per person, how many in a pack and how long they last?

I realise not everyone is on the same but just want a ballpark monthly cost.

Not gone for the plunge yet need to chat to the GP about it hence asking here ahead of that convo just for a rough idea.

You can get the equivalent of a pre-payment certificate for HRT which is c £25 a year.

Yes, but you must check the hrt you are prescribed are covered. Mine are, as are the different ones my friends are prescribed. It's a real bargain

Annoyingly if you have a prescription for everol HRT Sequi Patches you will pay for it as 2 prescription fees. Great!

Yes, I buy an annual HRT certificate.

I have the annual prescription too. It covers my patches and tablets.

I have a private testosterone prescription which isn't covered. I've now totally forgotten how much it is though!

My GP gave me a 12 month prescription for Evorel so I paid £9.90 for a years supply

I get 6 months supply for £9.90. Which reminds me I need to make an appointment soon!

England - I pay £11 a month I think for ALL prescriptions- HRT/painkillers/steroids/everything

I’m on the same but it’s covered by the pre payment scheme so just that one payment for a year.

£19.80 a year, so £1.65 a month.

I'm on the Evorel patches and my lovely pharmacist stood over me in the pharmacy and got me to fill in the certificate thing to get them at reduced cost. Before that, because of the shortages, I'd been paying full prescription charges for far fewer than a box actually holds - I'm still only getting about 8 at a time, but effectively 'free' for the one off payment.

If you’re prescribed something which isn’t covered by the HRT certificate, you can always get an NHS prepayment certificate in England. £114.50 for 12 months, covers all prescriptions. There’s no need for anyone to ever pay any more than that.
