Managing bloating and painful belly

I’m 41 and in early meno, and really struggling with bloating and a very sore belly. It seems to happen when I have egg white cervical mucous so seems to be related to a background cycle, but it’s erratic so sometimes every 24 days, sometimes 36 etc, such is the way with peri.

Ive had blood tests and scans and there’s nothing untoward going on in there, it’s just really painful and makes it really hard to dress. When it happens I can’t wear anything across my middle with a waist band.

Has anyone else had this or found anything to help? I’m not constipated.

Im on 200mcg evorel (2x100 patches), the coil and testosterone. All via GP rather than private. The evorel was increased recently from 150mcg and has helped so much with my other symptoms, but the cyclical soreness and bloating persists.

Hey there TulipsandZombies. Just wanted to offer some sympathy.

I'm also struggling with horrible bloating, but at the start of my period. I've always suffered from this, but now it's worse and it goes on for longer than before.

I've read all the advice about diet and exercise, but I just want a magic pill to take to make it go away 🤣

Today I've eaten a clean diet and done yoga and my stomach is still as enormous as ever. I've seen women who are 6 months pregnant with smaller bellies.

Totally get you @BlindyPeakers I so just want a magic pill! I thought HRT would be it to be honest and would cure all my peri problems but it’sa wild rollercoaster.

I’ve been measuring my stomach and can have at least 5cm difference depending on what day it is, which is mad, and hard to dress for.

I hope it settles for you.

I'm on the third day of my period and it's gone down thank God! So just my extra perimenopausal belly fat to deal with now!

I hope yours settles too. Now to wait for the next surprise that our bodies will throw at us!
