Confused about HRT

I’ve had a frozen shoulder and painful joints for a few months. I’m 47 and fairly active with sports and weightlifting.
My physio thinks it may be perimenopause that’s causing this and I have had blood tests and an internal exam at my GP which suggest there is nothing more sinister going on and it’s not my thyroid.
My GP sent me for an ultrasound and said after that, if it’s clear, I can have HRT. She’s suggested the mirena coil plus something else.
I’m worried, because I’m a recovered anorexic and both the implant and the injection made me put on weight so I had to stop both. When I did the weight dropped off.

I’m terrified of something that would make me gain weight and the mirena coil seems to have that side effect.

Has anyone one else been in a similar position and what have you found that works?

I haven’t gained weight with HRT. It’s been incredibly life changing. So much so that I’d still keep it if I put ion a stone. Farewell anxiety, exhaustion and aching joints. It’s given me a boob lift too. Only small boobs but after breast feeding I was gratefull for more perkiness.

I lost weight with hrt. I use utrogestan rather than the coil though. I prefer knowing that I can stop it and don't need someone to remove it.
