Estring oestrogen ring advice

Hi

I started using estring oestrogen ring yesterday but noticed that it seems to slip down as the day goes on - did anyone else find this and what did you go about it and does it matter if it’s not overly high inside me (sorry if TMI) ? I asked my GP surgery if they could re fit it for me but they weren’t sure they offer this service. I am pinning all hopes on it resolving my self diagnosed GSM - Genitourinary Syndrome of peri menopause- ( vaginal atrophy ) particularly my often sore and sensitive overactive bladder that has plagued me daily for this yr so far ! Dr confirmed I have some evidence of GSM. I don’t think I would get on with vaginal creams / pessaries as dread any more feelings down there when trying to ignore my bladder. I am hoping to try systemic HRT ( gel and tablets ) to also potentially help my symptoms- although I am unsure if it will even help this part of me. Also how long before I may see an improvement regards bladder tissue renewal. Any advice / experiences gratefully received.

If it's slipping down it sounds as if it's not inserted high enough and / or your pelvic floor is weaker and it's not holding it in place.

(By the way, someone here was desperate for the ring a week or so back, so maybe they will see your post and be able to get one? The info online said they were out of stock for a while.)

Why are you ruling out vaginal creams or pessaries? They do exactly the same thing as the estrogen ring.

I'm not 100% sure on this but my understanding was that the ring was more often used for women who weren't able to insert cream or pessaries.

FWIW I got a very good improvement with Ovestin as I had a very over active bladder. It took a good 3-6 months to see a big difference but even short term it helped.

I'd not rule it out.
