Is this the start of symptoms?

I'm 46, periods still regular as clockwork. But I am struggling with sleeping. I go to bed and often struggle to get warm in bed. Last night I ended up wearing a dressing gown to get warm. I then wake up roasting hot. I'm in bed now with no duvet. The room temperature is consistently between 17-18 degrees. DH likes to sleep touching just hands etc but often it feels like his hands are on fire they feel so warm. Once my sleep is disturbed I really struggle to get back to sleep. Is this menopause symptoms starting?

Hahaha I've currently had the exact same night and doing the same, lying in bed with no duvet after a hot/cold night. And I'm having same symptoms, still with periods currently, although I have noticed chamges to them. I'm 45 and for the last 6 months think I've been peri. I have other symptoms though too. But effected sleep, and hormones messing with your body temp are definitely 2 signs. I would say this alone doesnt equal definitely menopause but they are symptoms

In my experience unless you’ve started missing periods the doctor will tell you to fuck off.

@Arielsmummy Sorry you're suffering too, it's so frustrating.

@Blimpton I can imagine that happening! my experience with the doctor is they're not very interested in my health at all. DH on the other hand has been seen multiple times, gets everything, scans, blood tests and decent painkillers.

Im the same, Im either freezing or roasting there is no happy medium any more!!
Ive no problem falling asleep but find Im waking at 4 or 5 and cant fall back asleep, its so frustrating as Im tried during the day.

Im on the pill for about 4 years as my periods were getting heavier, longer in duration and more frequent to the point I was low in iron. My GP says Id need to come off the pill to do bloods and that they arent very accurate as the hormones fluctuate.

Im staying on the pill for now as its really improved my quality of life and I cant be dealing with heavy bleeding every 3 weeks!

@Zoraflora sorry you're having these issues. So I found my periods were getting ridiculously heavy and lasting for 4-5 days. I was worried about anaemia so started taking a heme iron supplement. This is not what you normally get suggested and I have to buy it from Amazon. But as it is iron from meat it's very easily absorbed by the body and doesn't give the same digestive issues. Anyway it has had an impact on my periods making them much shorter and less heavy. I'm in a Facebook group looking at low iron and I'm not the on the only one to report this. I know there isn't a scientific backing to it but it might be worth you trying to see if it makes a difference to you.
