What sort of patches?

Hello! 40, in early (peri)menopause, learnt today that my oestradiol levels are way too low despite Lenzetto spray. The consultant recommends I switch to a 100mcg patch in order to hopefully absorb quite a lot more.

i don’t love the idea of a patch but if it improves my symptoms more I’m there. Any recommendations for what sort of patch to ask the GP for - ideally one that’s small and not crinkly?

Thank you very much!

If you want to stick with gel, the other option is Oestrogel.
I'd try that before you 'resort' to a patch.

You'd need 4 pumps to get the equivalent of 100mcg patch but if you absorb gel better than Lenzetto, you may not need 4 pumps.

Not all transdermal is the same, so just because you don't absorb Lenzetto doesn't mean you won't absorb gel (and there is another gel called Sandrena which some women like.)

The smallest patch is Estradot but I've heard it's often out of stock.

I haven’t tried gel, it seems like a large volume of gel to rub in so I thought I’d try a patch first.

Thank you re Estradot!

It's not really as you can split the dose am and pm.

In fact the BMS suggests this for women who use 3 or 4 pumps.

You can apply one pump to each thigh in the morning and same in the evening.

I know someone who's used Estradot for many years but it's hit and miss and (without checking) I don't know if it comes in 100mcg dose.

You can easily check this online (dose available) before you made a decision.
