Considering coming off sequential HRT after 8 months

I started Oestrogel and Utrogestan last October. My main reason for wanting to start was to see if it would help with low mood and brain fog. I didn’t have any other menopause symptoms as such (at least none that were problematic). I also did a lot of reading about the benefits of HRT for all women, so thought it was worth a try.

Im 49 and was still having regular periods (although cycle length could be erratic, nothing extreme).

It took a few months to get the right dose of Oestrogel and I still only take 2 pumps spread over two doses a day. I found taking 2 pumps at the same time gave me palpitations and a horrible jittery feeling which was quite scary.

The reason I’m considering coming off it is that I don’t feel that it’s made much difference other than obviously regulating my cycles. I find the gel and then 12 days of Utro to be quite a faff.

I’d be interested to hear other people’s experiences of stopping HRT and also reasons behind it if happy to share.

TIA

if you find the gel a faff you can use patches that change twice a week with utro or even combined patches no no utro at all x

Thanks @Christine0708

TBH, it's the Utro that I find more of a faff! Not sure about patches as I would prefer the flexibility of adjusting the dose of oestrogen if needed - this was a godsend when I realised that I had been using too much and I was able to amend it easily.

I think I'm just feeling that the whole thing doesn't seem to be making much difference to me so far, and I do worry a bit about taking it if I don't need it.
