How soon after stopping HRT could symptoms return?

I started HRT (Elleste duet 1mg) about 1.5 years ago. Symptoms were mostly foggy mind and anxiety. It helped, but not completely so about 6 months ago I went onto 2mg. This seemed to help. Last Thursday I ran out of tablets so haven’t had any since then. The thing is I have god awful anxiety (pacing around, much worse than I’ve had for ages) and I can’t think straight. I feel awful.

What I’m wondering is whether menopausal symptoms could return that quickly ? It seems unlikely to me, but I have no
other explanation for how I feel.

There is no reason to stop. Your body cannot produce the oestrogen anymore. I intend to stay on it forever.

When you say tablets - or you on oral oestrogen?

I suffered from horrendous hot flushes and I use Oestrogen gel. I tried stopping a couple of years ago, and the flushes returned within a week

it took a good month or two (more like two) for me not notice symptoms coming back. I think it’s unlikely your anxiety is related.

@cleowasmycat Im
on tablets. I didn’t stop intentionally—I just ran out of tablets and I’m still waiting on getting my new prescription through. I can’t figure out why apparently my symptoms have returned when they have been in abeyance for a fairly long time.
