Anyone swapped from Evorel patches to Estradot?

I am currently using Evorel 100 patches and have no problems with them apart from they quite often partially come off during exercise, but then will stick back on after I've had a shower and got dried. I don't know if some of the active ingredient gets washed off in the shower. They are properly stuck on to begin with and I don't think it is clothing seams rubbing, it seems to be just from getting sweaty. I do put a new one on occasionally but it doesn't seem right to be replacing them three or four times a week.

I have read that Estradot patches are a bit smaller and stick on better but wondered if they would have any side effects if I changed.

Yes I switched from Evorel to Estrodot due to the size of Evorel patches. The Estrodot are tiny and much better to apply. I haven't noticed any difference on switching. I suppose they both contain oestrogen so in theory shouldn't be any different.

Thanks!
I did some googling and they seem to contain the same drug so you wouldn't expect any different reactions, but it took me a while to get used to the patches after being on gel.
I will see if my GP will change my prescription.

I’ve never had any problem with Evorel and I go the gym 3 times a week. Where are you sticking them? I stole mine on my bum or very low back part of my bum. Also my prescription dosent have a brand on just what is is and the strength. The pharmacy tried to give me Estrderm one. I asked for Everol instead. I have heard estradot do
go out of stock quite a lot.

I run for about an hour or more 4 times a week and stick the patches on the upper bit of my bum. I make sure they are fully under my pants so the elastic isn’t rubbing. I am pretty sure it is the sweat that makes them come off.

…have just done some googling and it does look like the supply is a bit dodgy.
🤷‍♀️

@MagpiePi have you maybe tried a tegaderm dressing over when running?

MagpiePi · 29/05/2024 10:08

@Christine0708 Thanks for that suggestion. I had thought about some kind of covering, but apart from the expense, I imagine that they would come off if the skin underneath was sweating in the same way the patches do.

I feel like we can't win! Gel is messy and inconvenient, patches come off if you sweat doing the exercise you are supposed to do to stay healthy and strong.

Well, I've been using Estradot for about a week and they do seem to stick a bit better although I've got a 10 mile run coming up so that will be a good test.

Can't believe how small they are compared to Everol!
