Bleeding heavily through HRT - what stops it?

I've tried 3 different combinations of oestrogen patches and progesterone pills now, but I started having a permanent 'period' after the first one, and it just kept going.

What I used - Evorel Conti patches on their own twice a week; then Evorel 75 twice a week plus progesterone 100mg nightly; then Evorel 50 instead of the 75s, but still with nightly progesterone.

It was totally ruining my life - I couldn't go swimming, felt drained all the time, and was always worried about flooding onto my chair/clothes.

My GP of the day (always a different one, and they each have a different idea about treatment) has sent me for a trans-vaginal ultrasound in case it was something more ominous. I haven't had the result yet, but the ultrasonographer didn't seem too worried.

I stopped everything, and the bleeding also stopped, but now I'm getting all the old menopause symptoms back again.

Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? I can't live my life haemorrhaging, but I'm also finding the symptoms of menopause difficult!

I have the mirena coil and take the pill, it's the only thing that stops the bleeding!

Thanks @rainbowhairchalk - I'll go and talk to the GP and see if that's an option - tbh I'm at the point where I'd consider anything!

I probably need HRT as well (due to peri) but I'm feeling ok with this solution so will probably leave it for a while. I didn't have any problems with the coil insertion but I know a lot of people have on here, it would be worth looking into all your options.

I’m on the mini pill to stop bleeding , I don’t take any hrt because of adenomyosis.
