Anxiety - can Utrogestan cause it?

I have been on Evorel 50, 2 x desogestrel, vagifem for 2 years or so. Last week GP changed some things partly in an effort to see whether it would make my bladder less twitchy (vagifem hasn't really helped much). The Evorel was upped to 75 and 100mg Utrogestan added, I take it at about 23.30. I was also put on Duloxetine as I have vulvodynia too, but swiftly came off that because it made me agitated, nauseous, sweaty, shivery shakey. Other SNRIs and SSRIs have produced similar effects in the past. I last took one last thursday so should be well out of my system now. But I am noticing I am really anxious (to the point of waking up quite early) and a bit nauseous and lightheaded first thing and then calmer during the afternoon, and again some anxiety creeping in early evening.

I'm wondering if it could be the Utro or even the increase in oestrogen. I also have a headache some of the time which I am sure is the Utro as I had headaches when I first went from 1 desogestrel to 2 (and I also had them when I was previously on Evorel Sequi). I don't think I am progesterone intolerant as I have been on various progesterone only pills for years. The GP said Utro is normally sedating and many women sleep well on it. Just wondered if the anxiety was a normal side effect?

Hi, i couldn't take Utrogestan it gave me horrendous side effects including anxiety & depression like symptoms. I switched to 2 x mini pill but recently started the new mini pill called Slynd. Its been authorised for use as the progesterone part of HRT. And so far, it's working wonderfully well for me - no side effects at all, just like the mini pill was for me when i used to take just the one. It might be worth asking about it too?
