Hi all. I've suffered from bouts of insomnia since peri menopause. I am now in my early 50s and menopausal.

Usually I will have a good night's sleep one night and then not get much sleep the next night despite exercising, meditating, trying magnesium etc.

This is now the second day in a row where I haven't slept well. It makes me feel low and I am trying to work full time as well.

My GP prescribed some tablets to sleep but only one prescription for a year. They work but I can only take them very occasionally. I've also looked into increasing my HRT dose but that won't work for me.

I've cut down on caffeine and can't think of anything else I can do. Any suggestions? Does it get any better? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

What HRT are you on? When I take my Utrogestan at night it's like a sleeping tablet! Knocks me out for about 7 hours.

I've also looked into increasing my HRT dose but that won't work for me.

Can you explain what looked into means and why it's not possible.
Is your GP refusing?

I am in Evorel Conti pads. I could increase the HRT dose and take the Utrogestan tablets but the tablets made me feel a bit "knocked out" when I tried them before. Maybe it's worth trying them again. Not sure
